I accidentally bought ground turkey breast at the grocery store instead of the ground turkey I needed…. I’m not usually a fan of ground turkey breast because it just so lean… but I improvised and made some turkey burgers and they were pretty great! You could make this with any type of ground meat.
Surprisingly, my kids really liked these (including the one who doesn’t like much of anything)….
This made 10 small burger patties (see picture). I am sure you could half this recipe if desired. I tasted the burgers and they were just calling out for something creamy and flavorful on top. I topped it with a slice of Gruyere cheese and it was the perfect match.
Each burger (without cheese) contains approx. 1.6 g. of net carbs and 146 calories
2 lbs ground turkey breast (you could substitute with other ground meat). [960 calories]
1 egg [70 calories]
4 ounces of goat cheese [320 calories 8 g. carbs]
10 ounces of cut frozen spinach (thawed and really thoughly drained) [105 calories 7 g. net carbs]
4 shakes of Worcestershire [5 calories 1 g. carb]
1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Gruyere Cheese (optional, but awesome)
Combine of all the ingredients and form into patties.
Spray or oil your BBQ grill very well
Grill for 10-15 minutes or until fully cooked.
